A great room should look and feel as though it has been created over time. When this is achieved, the house becomes a home. I like to see what my clients already have and how we can incorporate these pieces into the new plan. By learning what my clients love about their home and what they don’t, I can create a new design that actually fits their lifestyle.
Recently, I was asked, “so, what is your style of decorating?” For me, that is an impossible question to answer. I think a good designer does not have a cookie cutter style. The key is to approach every space with fresh eyes. My goal is to help the client find his or her style, and then create a space that exemplifies that style in a fresh and current way.
I have completed “from scratch” rooms, but my favorite projects are those that start with a few treasured family pieces. I like to enhance these heirlooms with some creative finds to make it all come together.
